May 18th, 2008A New Calling At Church
OK, one more thing before I go back to making this huge Sunday dinner. Last night when we went for a walk, Brother Callahan from church stopped us as we went past his house and said the bishop would like to meet with us right before church & indicated it had to do with a calling for me. So of course I stewed about it the rest of the night trying to figure out what it could possibly be. Then I remembered that the 1st Counselor in the Young Womens presidency is moving in a couple of weeks. Well, that must be it! The bishop is going to call me to be the new counselor. I have no problem with that. It just means I’d move from the 16 & 17 yr old girls to the 14 & 15 yr olds. At least I’d still be in YW.
Wrong.
Flashback:
The Primary Chorister was called to be in YW a few weeks ago, and the sister who was working with the 8-9 yr old girls was called as the new Primary Chorister. So I was being extended a calling to be the new Activity Days Leader for said 8 & 9 yr olds.
Back to the present:
WHAT?! Are you sure you have the right person? I only got into YW last Septemeber. This is a little too soon to be putting me somewhere else. So now I’m back in Primary again. Don’t get me wrong, it’s my favorite place to be, but I was just getting into the groove of working with the YW and by the way, I was working on getting my medallion. Now I have to wait until the next time I’m in YW to try to earn it AGAIN. Hope I don’t have to start all my projects all over. I’m pretty far into it now. I had the YW president sign off four of my projects today so I can try to keep them for next time.
So now I have to find out what the Activity Days Leader does. Maybe they have some badges or pendants I can earn……..
HEY! Wait a minute! This means I can start going back to my Knitting Guild & Spinning Guild meetings in the evenings. I couldn’t go to any while I was in YW because we always had youth activity on Wednesday nights. OK, maybe this isn’t so bad. I’ll get to see my knitting & spinning friends again.

I loved it when I had the Activities Days calling. You are going to have a blast Sarah AND the girls are going to LOVE you!

I have had Activity days calling twice. It is very fun. I am sorry you are out of YW though. It is my favorite place to be (almost 2 years as YW President – I hope I am never released). Oh – by the way – think of this – Abby just started Activity Days. She LOVES it. And is so sad she will miss it tomorrow because she is going with me to take the YM/YW to a Rivercats game. Have fun. Oh – and yes, you should be able to continue to work on YW personal progress. Here, after being released as a leader you have one more year to complete it!! Ask your Stake leaders. Miss you.
