December 1st, 2008And So It Begins……
So this morning I started feeling a little green. The morning sickness is coming on, so that must mean I’m at 6 weeks now because that’s always when my morning sickness starts. It begins at exactly six weeks and lasts until exactly twelve weeks, then I start to feel great.
I was doing just fine until right before I took Aggie to school and then a yucky kind of feeling washed over me and I slowed down significantly. I wasn’t totally nauseous, but I wasn’t really feeling very good either.
I exercised half-heartedly today. All right, I was actually pretty useless. After exercising, Rachel and I came home (remember I exercise across the street with my friend), took our shower and got ready for the day. The only thing I could think of that sounded remotely good to me was dried mangoes from Costco. I had tried some at a sample table last week and I really liked them, so I went back today and got a bag. They were delicious. Rachel really digs ‘em too.
After Costco we went to Rite Aid to track down these psi bands that my pregnant friend Jill told me about. I’ve seen pressure point wristbands for years and years, but these are fancy ones with pretty colors and designs. The website is http://www.psibands.com/ if you want to check it out yourself.
They kind of remind me of Swatch watches back in the 80’s (you know you had one….or five). They’re those same kind of colors and patterns. I bought the light green one with flowers, but I want to try to also find the red one with swirly flowers too. They’re neat because not only are they plastic so they’re waterproof (you can wear them swimming or showering), but they also have an adjustable dial on the pressure point button so you can apply more pressure as needed. I wish they’d had these when I was pregnant the last two times. My second pregnancy gave me major nausea and I got sick several times. With Alice I only got sick once. Let’s see what happens this time. I’ll let you know how the bands work.
